Paul Hess's career as an illustrator has more recently gravitated towards picture books and book covers for publishers in London and New York. This has given him the chance to produce many watercolours of subjects both romantic and stylish, from modern scenes for book covers to myth and fairy tale for picture books. All show that strong sense of colour and of course the clever use of perspective for which he is so well-known.
He was also one of the first artists to become involved in the development of Storyworld, the innovative card game devised by John and Caitlin Matthews and published by Templar Publishing in the UK and Candlewick Press in the US. You will find some of those illustrations here.
Paul had a successful one-man show at the Coningsby Gallery in London a few years ago and since then he has sold originals to people who have beaten a path to his door.
The Illustration Cupboard in Mayfair, has also sold his work occasionally and still holds some pieces but now for the first time we are able to offer here a large collection of work from the past ten years.
The prices include VAT.
